CYFA - Past Events
March 2007 - Youth Weekend Away
CYFA and Pathfinders headed North for a weekend outside, in and around Durham. With sessions based on the popular Stop Look Listen Live TV adverts, we took time out to stop and reflect on our lives, look at who we are and what influences us, listen to God and know when he is speaking to us and think about how we should act in our lives and how they reflect our faith.
We also went crazy at Digger Land, had a one pound challenge in the hilly back streets of Durham, visited Durham cathedral for evening prayer and saw the Angel of the North in the dark, and that was just Saturday. Sunday saw the penultimate session and a team effort on the clear up before a drive further north to Holy Island. After a visit to the abbey and various sweet shops we headed down the coast for fun, games and the final session on Bamburgh beach. BBQ food and football later we hit the road home.
More information and comments along with podcasts of the sessions are on their way. Please leave your comments on our blog!
23 December 2006 - Christmas Ball
CYFA were joined by other youth groups from in and around Chesterfield to celebrate Christmas in style. Ball gowns and tuxes at the ready everyone made a big effort to look their best. A three course meal and live music made for an enjoyable evening.
Many Thanks to all the helpers who put in a huge effort to make this event possible.
8 October 2006 - Ice Skating
CYFA and friends all donned their silly hats and headed to Ice Sheffield for an evening of ice cold fun. With MC Scott leading the way and edging his way all the way round the rink once before taking up the position of loyal chip eating friend everyone took to the ice. Whether at high or low speed, stod up or sliding accross the ice on their bum great fun was had by all. A big thank you to Scott for arranging the event and to Ice Sheffield for letting us in at the front.
Ice scating was really cool! We had loads of fun! I fell over two times, once showing Chris how Miki fell over and then i accidently fell over myself! I would love to go again! - Sam.
Well, I thought Ice-skating was very cool (good job really other wise we would have been swimming!) I really enjoyed it! I spent most of the time on the floor, on purpose of course but it was all good! We are all very grateful to Scott for arranging it all! But yeah, it rocked! Bring on the weekend away! - Gaz.
